Bathroom Expansion and Layout Redesign

The new bathroom does not have to repeat the same cramped layout. A shallow closet, awkward doorway, unused floor area, or poorly placed fixture may create an opportunity—but structure, utilities, permits, clearances, and budget control every design.

Extend the shower

Use adjacent floor area to widen a former tub alcove, subject to drain, structure, slope, door, glass, and clearance.

Remove or reshape a closet

Create a larger bathing area, a longer vanity, recessed storage, or a clearer path.

Move or reverse a door

Improve traffic, emergency access, privacy, or fixture clearance, subject to wall and utility conditions.

Reconfigure the vanity

Shorten, lengthen, float, or relocate it to gain movement or storage without blocking the room.

Relocate a toilet

Improve privacy or clearance while stating drain, vent, floor, inspection, and cost implications.

Borrow adjacent space

Combine bathroom and dressing space or use a nearby area when the plan, structure, and household function support it.

A design discussion is not a structural determination. Wall removal and fixture relocation depend on structure, plumbing, ventilation, electrical service, permits, and field verification.
